Student Withdrawal & Assistance Program
The aim of the SWAP program is to provide the forum for a thorough assessment of a student’s cognitive and academic strengths and weaknesses, as well as disturbances in mood and behaviour. Both the school and child’s parents are then presented with a detailed psychological report along with specific recommendations that will assist the student to succeed in their mainstream school. The SWAP program operates over 4 days at The John Berne School.
It should also be noted that the SWAP program is not a pathway into The John Berne School. Students whose difficulties (behavioural, emotional, etc.) place them in a high-risk group, or whose enrolment at their mainstream school is in question, should contact The John Berne School for a possible enrolment.
